Tradskin Co Ltd

Exporters of quality skins

Message from our CEO

Handling hides and skins all my working life has given me wide and varied experience in the leather trade.

Up until 1991 I ran a Fellmongery for a major British Nappa and double face tanning group. The late 1980s saw the decline of British tanning industry. I diversified and turned my skills into exporting to many Tanners in Europe and also parts of Asia. I am proud to say that throughout the industry I have gained a reputation associated with integrity, honesty and attention to detail, leading to satisfied customers.

We invite you to travel to the UK to meet our suppliers and us and check out the quality.

We may not be the largest in our field but we are the best.

Skins from the UK

The properties and character of the skins differ throughout the world greatly depending on breeds, climate and the pastures from where the animal has lived. The British Isles is no exception to this rule. Ireland, where the Atlantic rains feeds the lush grazing pastures, produces a heavier pelt much sought after by the double face tanners, where as the grains on skins from Great Britain have less faults and damage so the napper tanners prefer those. The properties also differ from one part of Britain to another so great caution needs to be taken. Buying skins from a meat works in Wales does not necessarily mean that you will get Welsh skins, the meat works may well have bought their stock from the Scottish borders.

TradskinCo's job is to guide you to the supplier supplying the qualities you require.
